FEEDING ECONOMY

Comparison of feeding table sugar and usual feeds available on the market to feeding APIVITAL® syrup:

SUCROSE FEEDING

  • table sugar price 22,5 – 28,5 CZK/1kg
  • a solution needs to be prepared
  • you do not get a useful container (bucket)
  • high energetic demand for bees - approximately 23% or the sucrose supplied is spent on splitting it, evaporating water and storage (more about it here: Zaboenko A. S. (2000)– Sovremennaja enciklopedija pchelovoda. Doneck: 75 – 76)
  • encourages robberies

FEEDING COMMON FEEDS AVILABLE ON THE MARKET

  • usually 40 to 50% of these feeds contain higher sugars, which the bees cannot spend and utilize (see page Feeds on the market)
  • paying for 1 kg of that, the beekeeper only gets 0,5 kg of those sugars that bees are able to spend and utilize.
Calculation for one feed available on the czech market: if you buy this feed for 19,60CZK/kg and the portion of utilizable sugars is 61%, it cost you in actual fact 32,10 CZK/1kg of useful feed!!!
  • the utilizable sugars' balance is totally inappropriate
  • these solutions are not primarily designed for feeding bees, they are originally used by confectioners, bakers, lemonade producers etc.

  • quick, simple and very easy feeding
  • wintering much more natural for bees and beneficial for breeding, which in itself is for many beekeepers sufficient enough economic justification to use our bee feed
  • price 22 CZK/kg in an IBC container, 25,45 CZK/kg in very useful, handy buckets or jerry cans
